September is the craziest time of year for me. Coming out of the hibernation period that is the summer and being dropped right into a full boarding school teachers schedule is a bit intense. Now I remember why I didn't start The Steam-Powered Gamer until October (OMG ALMOST A YEAR OLD!) - I was far too busy in September to do it. Things are starting to calm down here a bit now 0 well, actually, I think I'm just getting into my groove. Anyway, I have still been trying to be productive when it comes to Warmahordes stuff and I've managed to get a couple of games in at the local club. Now that school is back in session some of the regulars have been coming back to the game club so I can at least get a game of Warmahordes in on Friday nights (typically). That said, 2 games in the month of September is still not that great, but let me outline quickly how those games went.

List Building: The Journeyman League!
While there was no power in Connecticut, I decided that I would trek up to Boston to spend time with my girlfriend. I had a mini-vacation, sure, but she still had to work, go to class, and write papers and such. What was a guy to do? You guessed right: GAME ON!
I spent 3 of my 4 days off hanging out at The Whiz, my "L"GS (I say "L" because it's only local when I'm in the Boston area). I had some fun crafting and playing a new style of Magic: The Gathering deck I like to call the "Mad Scientist" deck, but I wanted to take advantage of the time to play some Warmachine/Hordes. That was when I heard from one of the Press Gangers that the store was starting a Journeyman League. If you click that link you'll find out what the Journeyman League is, but I will summarize it by saying that it's a 6 week event that is designed to encourage new players to get into the game by starting small with the standard faction battle box of models. The League tallies points for games played and the number and type of models you paint and you can earn prizes (and neat patches!) depending on how many points you earn. Even though I'm not a new player, I decided that I would join up so that I could motivate myself to get some of my Circle painted in time for Templecon in February.

List Building: Mohsar (50 points)
I have been checking the poll the past couple of days, making sure that I am able to create a representative article for each category by the end of the week. Without my blog being up and running for more than a week there are already a bunch of votes for some list building articles, so I am happy to oblige!
I have been toying around with the idea of starting Mohsar for some time. The one thing that has always been an obstacle for me is where to actually go with him. He has so many (6) spells at his disposal, and a whopping 4 of them are unique only to him (Crevasse, Sands of Fate, Pillar of Salt, Sunhammer)! What makes it even more frustrating is that he has a great infantry clearing spell (Crevasse), he has the best teleporting spell in the game (Sands of Fate), an awesome offensive upkeep that can be cycled well (Curse of Shadows), and a subtle-but-awesome board control spell (Pillar of Salt).
